STATISTICS AND ANALYSIS 

Statistics we have collected in order to educate people on the impact of reducing our waste. 

-Adults appear to be more aware of the amounts of waste being disposed in the ocean

-47% of people we asked confessed to have thrown litter on the ground

-Plastic is the most popular material (covering up 45.6% of our pie chart)

-Through our research we understand and are given the impression that females recycle more than males

-Most people (50%) use the car more often (than any other vehicle), which is the second most pollutant vehicle after the plane

-Over a quarter of people do not recycle

-Petroleum is the most popular source of energy (61%)

-Adults utilise plastic bags more often than children

-Adults reuse items more than children (76% of adults do re-use and 63% of children re-use)

-Children/teens recycle more than adults by 4% (66% of adults recycle and 70% of children/teens recycle)
