Comparing the perspectives of adults and teenagers who shop in supermarkets (Y9b)

This is a comparison from the perspective of adults and teenagers who shop in supermarkets. We received over 110 responses in total. 69 were from questionnaire for teenagers, and 42 were from the questionnaire for adults. From our questionnaires we have concluded that ¾ from both adults and teenagers recycle. However, more adults buy a normal amount of plastic, with a difference of 10%. This may be because of the independence, capabilities and time that adults have in their hands. The difference between the people who shop from Sklavenitis is vast, but it is so because the teenagers didn’t give serious answers or don’t shop themselves and have a maid or parent do it for them. About 60% from both groups use plastic toothbrushes, which are more common and cheap.

More teenagers reuse plastic bottles than adults, with a 10% difference which may be due to the fact that they have a higher awareness of a plastic bottle’s effect on the environment and also because it is more economical, less heavy and they are also more active in protecting the Earth. Additionally, both groups more or less have 60% of the people shopping 0-3 times a week which they consider a perfect amount. The teenagers may also go a small amount of times to prevent pollution from the car which as I previously mentioned is because they may be more active in a movement to help the environment.
