Saving money
There are many reasons why reducing waste is important. One reason is that you can also save money by buying only what you really need or reusing items.
Preservation of space
One of the main reasons to reduce waste is to conserve space in our landfills and reduce the need to build more landfills which take up valuable space and are a source of air and water pollution.
Conservation of resources
By reducing our waste, we are also conserving our resources. Resources like aluminium and trees are all used to make new materials such as cans and paper packaging.
Global warming
Since everyone keeps buying products, more of them would be created by factories. Factories produce dangerous greenhouse gas emissions which are harmful to our environment. Greenhouse gases trap heat not allowing it to go out, causing global warming. If we reduce the amount of unnecessary products we use/buy we can prevent this from happening.
